Baseball Nick!

'tis that favorite season and these guys get to be on the Freshman team together.  Games are after school and the season starts early.  Nick missed quite a bit being gone for Spring break and it started him off a bit behind - but he worked to make it back in there.
Thankful to the mom's for snapping these photos for us!
Something about this sport really brings him in!
and yes - he LOVES the head first dive

Little bit of everyday life in April

'Tis the season for mountain biking!!
And tractor riding apparently!
How about marsh stomping and cat-tail spreading after baseball practice
Mulch spreading was THE BEST with these helpers
He even stuck around for Church the next morning.  Like how we dressed him up!

Easter with my sister!

Holidays mean family and I am thankful to have mine so close.  My sister came down for Easter!  Love how it feels to be together.
Pictures like this sure are favorites.
Post Easter service Luke's Donuts!
I love how perfectly imperfect this photo is!
Nora is trying to figure out how to pose
Got the family dressed all nice - gotta capture it
Now to go to work on Easter dinner.  Check out these helpers.
Nothing beats the full table family photo!  Love that these guys are my family=)
Before they left we rocked a chilly hike up to Ski sundown.
Almost as good as the full dinner table family one!
Looks so different without snow.
imagining life with a snowboard on!
Something about back of the truck rides that just never get old!
Thank you to the Charrons for coming to us this weekend!  Thankful for the time together.

The Spring break Florida adventure family style!

Here we go on a spring break trip to see Oma Sue and Goomba in Florida!  I LOVE traveling with this crew these days.  They make it so easy - even if you are packing THIS many bags, golf bags, etc...  They are great travelers - and honestly make it fun!
Grabbed a rental car (big enough to fit all those bags) and hit Doc Fords for dinner!
Here's the whole crew!  Love being with my folks in the place they enjoy so much!
First stop is the ocean - with a new fishing net that Drew is determined to figure out.
Thankful to rent a car that fit us ALL.  Now we are headed to a spot Oma Sue has wanted to check out.  About an hour away called Babcock Ranch
The bus and tour guide were quite the hoot - the wild life was unique to the area and therefore VERY different than what we normally see.  Baby crocodiles, wild hogs - learning plenty about the local plantings and how they help against bugs and sunscreen.  He was a wealth of knowledge and I don't think he ever stopped talking.
Feeding time for the wild boars
We rounded the corner and came up on this HUGE amount of crocodiles that seemed to be arguing about something.  The tour guide was even shocked.  We were on a bridge when I took this photo (which was a bit un-nerving for me) but the tour guide spoke lots about them.
Here is the family souvenir for us!
Look what this guy pulled out of the ocean!!  Shane the fisherman!  A SCHOOK!  and a big one at that.  Lots of folks came by to check it out.  We sent it back, but not without a photo.
Love how my folks enjoy the sunsets nightly - simply beautiful.  Nature at its best - nice to slow down to enjoy it.
Here is the lead fisherman
Love this evening shadowy photo of the boys that never slow down.
Chris had a great idea to rent these bikes and get some miles out to the tip of the island.  It was EARLY morning and Nick was the first one up - shows that he was really interested and kicked our butts!  Worth doing and it was great doing it with him!
The big boys went golfing and we went mini golfing!  We let this guy pick it out - feeding the crocodiles and all.
These 2 are just too cute together.  Love this capture.
Here is one happy kid with a new suit
Another adventure day and this time on the water for some deep sea fishing.  Drew proved to be quite the fisherman and bill hooked us up to the great spots.  We listened to the OLDEST twangiest country music I have ever heard.
Check out THIS fisherman.  It was an EFFORT reeling in the SHARK - Chris rocked it and than our guide was very schooled into how to grab it, take the hook out and let us hold it.  THIS was impressive.
They handed this guy around (I myself was not interested)  the boys all got to feel what a baby shark feels like.
SUCCESS!
Chris and I scooted out for a cocktail one evening.  On the walk back I saw this bird and he looked like he was offering up his fishing opinion to this gentleman.
Excited to capture these family shots before our departure back to real life the next day.
The whole crew!
love this guy and our adventures together.

Not a bad looking crew

Thank you to my folks for hosting.  I love the time with you guys in your happy place.

The stages of Nick

Look at this cutie at his first CBPS recorder concert.  Love the plaid shirt that he 'gladly wore'
Now look at him!  Playing both Tenor Sax and bass clarinet in the jazz band and HS band.
Great shot of the dapper guys that met at the recent wrestling season.
Gotta get ice cream after the concert.
There is something about this year for Nick - feels VERY transformative.  This is him in September 2021 to April 2022.  8 Months later and the looks SO DIFFERENT.  His hair, body, teeth!  and thats just the physical stuff.  He is a true leader, a good and fun friend.  He is social, helpful, observant, messy, distractible, smart!  LOVES HS - but where is our little Nick?
There he is - clutching his sippy cup rocking the cool shoes and great hat.  That was yesterday right?  We love the man you are growing into!
