I felt like a school kid getting out of work at 1pm and rushing up to the lake. Rocco was thrilled to join for the first night of memorial day weekend. We scored a free paddle boat from one of the neighbors and these boys were killing it.

My parents came up and enjoyed a Friday evening happy hour bringing some delicious margaritas and snacks.
Paddling off to the sunset together these adorable boys that never grow tired of fishing.
So very thankful they have each other.
meanwhile, I was hanging out with Ikea instructions assembling beds. Chris was driving Shane to hang at buddies house and the jamboree (Nick was bringing him back - gotta love the 3 drivers) Chris came up to 'help' but he cannot turn a screw, ha can offer up suggestions which was wasn't terribly interested in hearing. I took a break with 3 done and enjoyed cocktails at the Fontaine's and their new deck.
Things NOT pictured, coming home to Nora (or Wendy) having gotten into the fridge and eating the Costco packet of pork chops!
Then the toilet not working, us removing the toilet (by us, I mean Chris directing me to remove the toilet) and then figuring out the sewer pump breaker was out (much easier solution!)
Nick and Shane rolling in a bit late due to the firework traffic at the jamboree.
Back to the good stuff.
A little morning ride with Nick to the natural spring to fill up water for the weekend.
How bout a painting project. First color choice - Krypton. I didn't mind it at first, than I just couldn't keep it, it felt periwinkle.... Cool tones in a warm tone cabin....
I mean, it isn't horrible, but it just wasn't working... I desperately wanted to finish, but thought I would not like it for years forward.
A little pinterest search and agreeable grey it is! Thank you to Chris for being willing to go get it.
Our neighbors were headed up, so I had 20 minutes to crush it.... I gave it my all. #finisher!
Meanwhile this happened
The Murphy's and Canny's arrived with such great Memorial day spirit. We strolled down to the Briggs who were expecting a visitor via C-Plane. Augies father flies C-Planes and Augie is in training. This was a great public lake and if you have authorization from a land owner you can land here. After he landed they were chatting about other places he had flown too. Turns out he flies quite routinely to LOBSTER LAKE - what a small world
Loved how it seemed so easy for him to land and paddle up to their dock and tie up.
Drew got this shot from the boat - Chris had a BOAT FULL on the lake to watch it all.
Pretty epic photo
Such a treat - love that these kids are really just up for anything to include some of my silly games.
Love that these kiddos are always up for my fun games.
Agreeable grey for the win!
Shane helped me with the final bed frame - orphanage DONE
Next up - shower repair
But first, some lake driving.
Chris was learning how to drive the boat and the kids were on the back wake boarding
That evening my folks came out for a mini memorial day bbq with some delicious ribs!
We hit a little booze cruise first. This was their first time
I would like to think they thoroughly enjoyed it. These smiles just warm my heart.
There is the teepee for Patty
Love the relaxation photos
He sleeps and for now, the fish are safe
Just want to squeeze those cheeks.
Everything we want out of a lake weekend. Monday morning rained so no photos - but it was still pakced! Mays came up by 8:30 and they took a fun rainy boat ride. Turns out the water was SUPER warm, so kids all got in and both Mary and I swam to the Briggs and back. We seriously made the most out of the day.
While sadly we missed the parade because they cancelled it, but they had marched to the senior center for practice and Courtney Vincent captured it.
I see a schmoopy bear and Austin!
Came home to our Rhadendrum just crushing it. Beautiful weekend.
Would love more of these=)
