The horses were just beautiful, and they were running around for us too.

Spirit week, dogs and did you ask for another project?

Spirit week was actually AFTER homecoming at CHS - a non-traditional approach.  Today was 70's day.  While I think Nick nailed it - he opted out of wearing this outfit for fear he would be the only one.   

I moved into an office with a WINDOW!  Yippee!  Love my sit to stand desk and place for plants!

So you were wondering if we had another project up our sleeves - you bet!  This deck has been in NEED for years.  So it was finally time.  THe contractor that painted our home has a team that does decks too.  Lets get it started

Nora desperately wanted to work with me - not sure she chose the right bed.

Drew's Birthday Party

His birthday arrived, we opened some gifts and stuffed him in the car for a 9-hour drive, we had an after-school party planned and it got rained out, so we re-scheduled and added this bounce house as a surprise!

Now THAT is a full bounce house!  Good looking bunch!  Fun party for the kiddos with PBJs, snacks and Drews homemade ice cream cake.

Was so thankful Barbara chipped in to help with the party snacks.  and I loved snapping this photo as we finally convinced her to come in out of the chilly afternoon and curl up with Drews newly gifted electric blanket!

 

Oktoberfest in the HOOD!

OUr neighbor has talked about hosting an Oktoberfest party for a few years now.  Well Cassandra and I convinced her that this is the year to go for it!  So she did and she went ALL IN.  She LOVES to cook and bake too, so it was a bit of a labor of love for her.  We had to head over there looking the part!  This is my mom's drindle from 1970ish era - love every time I get to wear it!

Barbara was in town for a about a week - she got to see games, home coming and now a little Oktober fest party.  Thankful she is able to plug into our lives here and there.  IT was a bit chilly for her this week - considering she is becoming more and more a Texan!

The food was amazing, and it was such a treat seeing a different crew of neighbors come out.

I do want to remember trying to help clean up - All the gourds that Jeanne grew mistakenly in their back yard - the gourd painting and just the time with all the neighbors!

 

Nick's first HOMECOMING

Canton is back on the Homecoming track.  As a Sophomore - its Nick's first formal dance!  Love how 'seriously' he took it.  He looks great right?  Those shoes were a lucky purchse this morning - thrilled they had his size and everything.  The tie is a leadbetter kid classic that he is lucky still sort a fit - his goal was to match his date - good thinking buddy!   We were fortunate to have Tate join us for the 'get ready' portion of the night!

 

Drew was SUPER curious about ALL OF IT.  Of course he is right?  We tasked Jules with occupying him so he doesn't drive her brother nuts - that was the hardest task of the day!

Love this evening for NIck - SUPER honored that he let us host the 'pre-party'  My only goal was to NOT embarrass him.  Yes - college football was also represented.

Madison DuFrane was Nicks date - love her dress!!  Great kiddo too.

And of course this is what happens - notice its the boys right?  The girls were freezing (shocking right?) some came in to warm up in blankets by the fire.

They did manage to play some cornhole which got them intergrated with the boys

It was fun carivaning them to the HS - they seem to be super pumped.  Sounded like Nick really enjoyed it - only bummer is one in the group wanted to leave early, so they all left.  Maybe one day they will learn that they more that stay the better it all is!!  I am just SO thankful they all went!!
