One CRAZY week - like we were 21!

I am honestly not sure where this photo was taken - but the fact that it is the three boys watching a bit of crazy.  Hold on boys - watch your parents act like they are rather young.  Nick was supposed to have his first HS dance - however it was very last minute and the momentum of the kids was blah at best.  Alright buddy - you don't know what you are missing!
Ladies night in canton!  Look out!
time to tear it up - Its a Tuesday =0!
Now Thursday - headed to Walker Hayes in NYC.  That's right NYC!  Awesome dinner in the city, met up with Rebecca's friend Roy and headed in to see WALKER HAYES.  Our new favorite country music family guy.  Walker LOVED talking about his songs, lyric and showing off his family.  Before we left I did ask the kiddos to learn the dance moves to the 2 hot songs - 'Fancy like' and AA - they did pretty good!  Check out the link.

Concert was wonderful and awesome as expected.  Hoda and Jenna Bush were there along with Walkers' family.  Lots of dancing singing etc.  When we got to Mary's car we couldn't find the key fob!  (this is why I am SO NERVOUS to have a car with only a fob....  this will happen to me all the time)  the vallet finally found it and Dree rocked us home
Friday night was a HS dance.  If you can believe it, there was VERY LITTLE I could do to convince Nick and his buddies to attend.  I DEPERATELY wanted to load them up and drop them off.  I just didn't have the inertia.  BUT - when Acoustic Marsh pit was playing at Legitimus on Saturday we showed them what they are missing out on by dancing our butts off with good buddies!!
Yellow Leadbetter anyone?!

Our Baller's tournament in RI

Drew is really enjoying his Bball team.  They signed up for a tournament in RI.  It was super fun to head out Friday afternoon just he and I.  We made it in time for the game and came back to the hotel for a well balanced meal.
The next morning we made the best of the dreary morning on the beach.  A few brave ones went in.  The rest got photographed
Water sure does look chilly

Saturday's games were pretty spaced out so we occupied the 'in-between' at Dave and busters for some significant sensory overload.  We had PLENTY when it was time to resume Bball
Saturday night Chris, Nick and Shane joined us so having an overflow room was perfect.  Even more adorable when we went to check on them that they were snuggled in together.  They said no need to mess up the sheets in the other bed.
Romper room at Sunday's final game.
Crazy I have a few photos of these 2 but not the bball team.  The team played SO HARD.  each game they lost by a BASKET.  It was heart breaking!  They played with such heart.  We all wanted just 1 WIN.  Next year boys!
Before this crew left we managed to snag lunch at a rather Italian feeling spot in Providence enjoy a meal together outside!

Dinner with Diane

Back to DC for work and a night away with Diane to continue the birthday celebration.  Beautiful walk through old town.
Delicious Mexican meal - birthday shots included
Love my time with this beautiful lady!  Especially memorable is her helping a sweet lady during our walk.  Heart of gold this one.

Back to the VT farm house we go!

THIS is what I love about these weekends away.  The removal from home distractions
The antics of our children!
see what Drw is wearing?!  NOT his jacket.  Matter of fact he forgot ALL OF HIS STUFF.  Yup, didn't discover it until ski morning time.  So he is pieced togheter with Nick's jacket, Mike Ryan's stuff (to include helmet and poles) and rental gear.  Great right?  it was THAT kind of morning.
Maybe Frankie doesn't need a jacket?
Sandwich making on day 2 before heading to Killington.  Such a simple process.
Unless you have a lot of opinions on how it should be done
A beautiful dusting of snow to make our final ski adventure week so perfect
OUR VRBO owner opted not to even pow making it even more serine on the way out.
How the car looks EVERY time on the way home.   #GREATSKIDAY  The kids LOVED it, found lots of great little trails and LOVED exploring together.  It was great seeing them come back all rosy faced.

Mom's vs. Boys

These moms are SO FUN and came up with this idea to surprise the boys and play them.
We did warm ups and played almost a full hour
Tons of fouls, lots of smiles - too much sweating and not enough baskets for our side.
Thank you Shane for letting us ball you -
I am wearing a much smaller rendition or the shooter shirt.

Back at home with our crew

So thankful for these moms covered down on the kids and schedules while we were gone.  They were wonderful and had ANOTHER birthday dinner waiting for me when we came home!
46 what?!?
Thank you so much for taking care of these kiddos!

Selkirk - Schweitzer - IDAHO - CAT SKIING!!! Here we come

This is an adventure in the making.  Tom has always dreamed of helicopter skiing, Asa too.  But sweetly they want to do it with their wives.  Everyone say 'AWE....'  Chris started to get the bug.  We deterred from Heli skiing to CAT skiing so many reasons.  Than Rebecca started the research process.  She found us an AWESOME VRBO in Selkirk.  The adventure of us ALL flying together like 40 year olds on spring break was amazing!  We flew late night and stayed at a hotel in Spokane Washington.

Next morning was a search for breakfast and we found Molly's Diner - perfect for Mary currently missing Molly!
The special is 'Molly's Mess'.  Both Rebecca and Tom dove right in!  Delicious and carb up folks!
It was a dreary but cool drive out to Selkirk Idaho - BEAUTIFUL lake  - more of an attraction than the ski slope.  Now to settle in an break out the toys!
Took these photos for Nick to fully apprecaite the amount of snow base they have
Now to the beauty of the environment.  This was one of those trips we kept taking photos.  So enjoy!
First day of CAT skiing didn't happen due to conditions.  They were waiting for the rain to filter through the snow and NOT make the snow too heavy.  That was a bit of a bummer,  so we have a credit (and a reason to come back) sometime in the next 5 years.

Took this photo on day 1 - and another later.  Such a big beautiful mountain to explore.
We LOVE the festivities around the mountain to include this adorbs bar right on the mountain.
Smart idea before powder skiing boys!
The view from the VRBO was beautiful EVERY moment of the day.
Snow one night lead to a beautiful drive into the mountain
Took this photo to show Drew how handy it was borrowing his boot bag.
Don't we wish those were our tracks?
See, lots of photos
My favorite tree skiing place

Happy happy happy

Yet another beautiful view from our VRBO - sunrise and its MY BIRTHDAY!
And what better than here and with these wonderful folks to celebrate.
Traditional Leadbetter favorite meal - Steaks, asparagus, rice a roni
NOW we get to CAT ski - its REALLY going to happen!
in the CAT with a bluebird day!
there is our fearless adventure leader - he and Chris are the only snowboarders for the crew.
Getting the briefing and checking out the first run
Happiness is......
Here is the whole crew

My favorite of the crew
wait, maybe this one
I loved that he told us how thankful HE IS that we will pay him to guide US!
CHEERS ALL!
Captures of the lake
Well this photo isn't nearly as festive.....  Airport living at its best.  Our flight from WA to Minnesota was delayed causing us to miss our connection and spend the night in MN.  Not the welcomed detour we were looking for.  Asa how to scramble and change flights.  We had to extend our vacation one more day.  If only we were still on the mountain.
