It was a fabulous Leadbetter traditional dinner and a blast to see the muchkins bring down all their gifts (after they had carefully hid them in their closets...)

Drew doesn't like to swim - he LOVES to swim.

Fathers day
Argh again in my camera department as I didn't snap a single photo of the man that is truly the best dad to our 3 boys. I loved the excitement Nick, Shane and Drew had regarding making a card for Dad this year. As the date approached Shane even told Chris that father's day is coming - its the day we will put food in your bed.... of course the tradition is dad being able to have breakfast in bed - but coming out of the mouth of a 3 year old it just sounded different.
Chris enjoyed a morning of biking while the kids and I went to church and later that afternoon we had a fabulous dinner of grilled chicken with another fabulous father COL Leadbetter. The ended the evening with a round of twilight golf. Not a bad day!!
These photos were supplied by Kay and Bill as they stayed with us a few weeks ago - but I love that is captured all of us.
Thank you Chris for being exactly the kind of dad that our boys need.

A temporary Goodbye
We moved here from Germany thinking that was kinda unique. Well, we met a german lady at the gym with 2 boys and a 3rd on the way - equally unique. one year later, they are packing their backs for Germany. He works for Volkswagen and was thrilled to finally get an assignment there. They will be close to Hanover for 18 months (longer they hope) but it will be the first time Alexa will LIVE in Germany in 10 years. She is over the moon with excitement. The boys will go to German school as she has continued to speak to them in German. We are so excited to hear about their adventures although I will be green with envy during Christmas market season.
A mist all their packing up - they carved out 2 magical moments with us. One at a BEAUTIFUL hike in Red Rock Park - the kids loved it and this is the only crappy photo my phone managed to take.
The next at the pool on Saturday night. It was a beautiful evening and we practically had the place to ourselves. A pizza and margarita dinner and the boys enjoyed every moment of their time together.
I am thankful for the time with them. Alexa is a mom who truly loves being a mom and it feels so good to be around her. We wish them the best and hope to reconnect in a few years.

The tooth fairy visits twice!
Friday morning as we were leaving the house nick can storming down the stairs... in tears.... outta no where... whats going on, take a breath.... He finally says, I lost my tooth! I am so thrilled. for him. It went down the drain, now I instantly am at the same place he is. Awe man... brushing his teeth, he felt something weird when he spit and as it circled the drain he realized just what it was...
At least he still has the gap to prove it.

Shane has forgotten how to swim (or gained a healthy fear of the water) Drew LOVES the water and Nick is pretty much off on his own. here we go.
this photo doesn't do the amount of orange yuckyness of Cheetos residue on Nick's face. My folks left a bag here after their visit and I don't really like the stuff. But Nick does - its the perfect pool side yuck snack!
Can you see Drew's shiner? We tried so hard to get a good photo of that one - mostly so I could replicate the eye shadow for myself! He had the best shadow eye!

a year of pm kindergarten in the books
When i look back I truly cannot believe all that Nick has accomplished during his afternoon kindergarten. starting school he had his letters - just last night he read "pete the cat' to Shane (and Shane didn't mind - as when Nick was really learning it was and still is a struggle for all....) I love taking the time to help him write, sound out words and have his mind compute numbers. I cannot believe they were knocking out all this addition, subtraction and even a bit of fractions. For this math minded momma that was my favorite!!

Both of his teachers Dr. Connors and Mrs. Mulholland were truly wonderful and enjoyed the life of a kindergardener. They orchestrated a beautiful slide show - I am certain there wasn't a dry eye in the room full of parents. Bottom line - let them be kids!
Reading, writing and numbers aside, I am so thankful to see Nick happily thriving among his classmates and enjoying the buddy link up time with the friends he has made. He is one social guy that likes to make kids laugh.
Love these boys together. Honestly I won't miss the kindergarten timeline - but i will truly miss the daily interaction with the wonderful ladies at the bus stop There were many days they were my life line to.... life!

More and more and more
Lately the day to day life has totally consumed me from even angle and keeping up with my blog has been the 'one more thing' But even thinking like that depresses me as i use it and hope to use it in the future as the chronicle of life that felt like a blur. Like tonight Nick asked me which was his first tooth to come in... I know some moms could rattle that off or look in a baby book - but I don't have any of that - why it makes me feel inadequate i don't know... But sometimes it does. So bare with me if I miss anything - but here are some snap shots of the crazy end to school and a taste of summer.
