Escape for a Wedding

We had the honor of attending the wedding for Joe Brooker and his new bride Shannon.  Joe is a sprinkler installer contractor that Chris has worked very close with over the years.  They developed a great partnership.

It was a beautiful fall afternoon with just the right chill in the air.  We sat outside for the ceremony and the view was beautiful!

Glad I captured this photo real quick as the ceremony was super brief!  Maybe everyone was chilly =)

It was such a beautiful evening to celebrate this couple and be part of a celebration.  Dancing and all!  Glad I had such a good looking date.

The Crusaders Soccer season

Clocked some more Wins for this team.  Nice to have the addition of Austin, Luke and Nolan on games here and there.  Looking forward to having the whole grade together next year.  Kudos to Chris and Pete for coaching their 5th year!  One more year Dads - wow that went by fast!

Shane - Kudos to all your hard work and logging a few goals this year - for often playing defense, that is hard to do!  You are a consitance force on your team.

Lucky Golfer - Lucky Pooch

Election day and these kids' are lucky enough to hit the course for the day.  Have fun to Shane, Frankie and Ronan.

Nothing ends the day better than snuggling with your buddy.  Shane wont say much on the car ride home, but once he gets inside he has TONS to say to Wendy - The love these boys give their animals is endearing.

 

Halloween!

Love the last minute costume ideas (and these boys are lucky for a few selections in the costume bin (flash and the rooster) meanwhile Drew was committed to the green Army man - but since he didn't wear the boot covers he did look a bit like a leprechaun.  Guess this costume can have multiple uses

Seriously, how adorable is this photo - Luc and Shane in the same costume with the baby bird Penelope!  Pre-gaming Halloween in the Briggs hood.  it was amusing transporting this crew.  

Lots of scuttlebutt of other neighborhoods limiting the trick or treating hours from 4:30--6:30, crazy right?  I gotta say it really doesn't last too late naturally, maybe 8?  Looking a bit spooky here.

After this decoration was displayed for weeks, tonight Chris asked me why the skeletons where pole dancing.  The thought never crossed my mind.  Just wait til next year!

Halloween Prep AND Michigan vs MSU

Who would have thought in CT we would live across the street from MSU grads?!?!  This year Cassandra really ratcheted it up.  My mailbox got wrapped with MSU flags and I even found a Spartan in the egg bin.

Fright night for CIS - Drew's turn!  I am dressing warm and sending this photo out to Anna Wisneski because she had this costume last year and surely won the 'who wore it better'!  The cow suit is a yearly favorite of mine.  Chris being a trooper was in the other car wearing the rooster suit (not pictured but you surely have the mental image)

Onto pumpkin carving - an activity that I love how my involvement has dwindled - as they are more capable

Meanwhile - bringing the rivalry back up - thinking we should have used the taller ladder.  It soon had a red X and an MSU flag next to it.

Rainy dreary day, close game that we lost in the final quarter and here I am wearing green.  Yuck.

Good progress

Such good progress - this is how I always envisioned the entry way - now with that thick marble tile gone we can actually have a door mat too!  The flooring just fits us better.   Hides the dirt SO much better.  That is the name of the game right?

 

Powder room is making some progress.  In-between coats we popped into the High School play 'Clue' awesome performance that captured everyone's attention!

Almost complete - need some trim painted and installed (yes, that is on the docket for this weekend)

 

Drew's Party time

 He patiently waited for an open slot on the calendar to get his buddies together for a little celebration.  We enjoyed his famous ice cream cake

Than popped over to the Flamig farm Halloween walk.  There was a spooky barn that we REALLY wanted Drew to walk through - but he INSISTED on NOT doing it.  Of course once it was all closed down he wanted to try it - but time to move on!  Next year birthday boy.  Always good to know your limits.
