Christmas preparation - Back yard football!

Friday morning and the Texans are headed back to warmer weather while we switch gears to Christmas and football!!
Off to our favorite tree farm on this dreariest morning.  Robert and Barbara were on a later flight, so we dragged Barbara along and gave Robert some alone time.

Love that we have helpers and so many of them!  Grabbed our tree and a tree for my folks too!
Lets get some Christmas out and prepare for the BIG GAME!  GO BLUE what a season they are having and WHAT a game!!
With a WIN in our bucket lets host the annual backyard football game!  Still light out in this photo
Adults played first and than it got taken over by the kiddos.
It was a full house - or full deck actually - so thankful that was finished enough.  check out the projector in action as well.  Games all night!

I will admit - Thanksgiving is such a treasured holiday!  FOR ALL THESE REASONS right here.  This year it was off the charts awesome filled with family and friends!  Thank you all - I love reliving it here!

Cousin's for Thanksgiving too!

We swapped out cousins!  The ones from MA left and the ones from TX flew in!  Loved having a full house and getting them with us for a week.  First night pasta sampler from New England pasta company - kudos to Chris's final iteration of soccer coaches' gifts.
Cousin catch up time.  Adding Seb to the mix even's out the knee hockey teams.  Adding Winslow to the mix is a win for me!
We had a little something planned every day.  Sunday was a hike to Sundown
It was nice and brisk if you can tell by the attire.  Long way up, short way down.  Kids are awesome and adults did quite well too.
We made it to the summit and a favorite view for our family.
Love that Robert captured these 3 together.
This is a favorite for sure!  Looking at Nicks hat from 2010 is cracking me up!
It sure was windy at the top - time to get back in the tree line to warm up!
Love this photo of grandma being a kid again!
Next up to warm up with wings and drinks at the Riverton Inn.  We were thinking the old style in would have just enough warmth and cozy for our chilly tire bones and just enough meat for the crew.
Sunday became rather full when my boss gifted us pretty sweet tickets to the UCONN game.
We decided the crew that needed to be front row MUST include OMA SUE!
Drew made it his personal mission to get on the jumbo tran - and can you imagine?  He made it?  This video is hilarious from all perspectives, Drew's Winslow filming, his brother's and cousins reactions.  I just love it.

Back at home chilling together.
Monday Liz and Robert headed to a NYC adventure!  SO perfect.  They had great sites to see and explore.  We went back to work and school (BORING!) but Vesta put together a Thanksgiving feast that I captured here.  One of the many things to love about Thanksgiving - gathering together.  Great execution!!
Can you imagine the dinner conversation slightly different over here?
Now onto THANKSGIVING morning - time to earn the turkey with a turkey trot!  The cousins dressed up as it often the theme.  It wasn't as chilly that morning so it was nice to have the costumes initially, but got a little toasty toward the end of the run.  Needless to say = we represented!
Dogs, kids, adults, bloody mary's??
Captured by the 5K race photo folks!
The sweaty supportive finish line

Time to prep the feast  - getting ull involvement is a favorite of mine!
Can you see everyone in shorts and a little fire pit too?!  The day was absolutely perfect!
prepping the final pieces of the table
You know how much I love this full table photo.  HUGE thank you to Robert and Liz for bringing everyone out this holiday season.  We were blessed to be able to host you and are very thankful for the time together.  It's no easy feat getting everyone out here - but the time together is surely worth it.  While I know my folks would prefer to be in Florida, we are VERY thankful they were here with us this weekend.
The table is maxed and that equates to being BLESSED and THANKFUL!  Love you all!

Veteran's day, Soccer finals and cousin time

So exciting for the soccer team to be advancing in the tournament.  Couple great games has them headed to the semi finals!  Love this poster that his cousins Drew for him!  Checking into the rainiest game ever!

We opted to go to the CIS Veteran Day celebration today. It will be our last time there!  Love the hug from Drew and always enjoy their question.  My favorite part is sharing the day with Chris and my father.

Love the buddies he meets along the way too
Here’s the whole crew-great choice in shirts Drew!
Here is the rainy game.  It was high energy for these boys but fell short by a goal.  Nick was thrilled to be part of it all.  Here’s to next year!
Love the girl cousin time with this gem;!
Something about the sister faces in this photo just cracks me up!
Thanksgiving celebration early for us all!  Take any excuse to be all together;)

The final iteration!

He started coaching them when they were in 3rd grade!  5 years later they are 8th graders and in their final year of youth soccer bfore hitting the High school field.
I am so thankful that you devoted your time to these boys - they are better sportsman's for it.  Well done Shane and Congratulations Chris!  the days are long but the years are just too short.  You made the most of it!

16 Sure is sweet!

The boy that started it all for the Leadbetter's - he is turning 16!  Starting the day with a pretty fabulous hair cut before soccer.
Next to get through the driver's permit test - passed!
brotherly antics while celebrating Nick
What can we say about this kid - smart, confident, always on the go (now even more so with that handy license) POSITIVE and a leader - it's wonderful to see him doing and BEING awesome.

Doesn't every HS sophomore put one of these on their birthday list?
Even better - a birthday weekend bike ride paired with a pretty adorable gift from his people.  WE do love our baby bear!
Love their gifting excitement!
Birthday season is a WRAP!
