A night with my boys

Drew and Chris were busy with other things, and I had just one night with the big boys.  I even had Nick's undivided attention!!  I managed to grab and extra pair of skates from a co-worker and we popped over to the Murphy's awesome skating rink for just a bit.

I really just want to remember this photo and this moment.

The rink was very impressive, lights, bumpers and the ice was beautiful.  Shane brushed it off and we got to skating.

It didn't take long for us to need an ice break.

Loved heading back home and seeing the beauty of the warm lights.

Blessed to have a simple great evening with these boys.

 

Winter fun

Nick gets the new wrestling sweatshirt and look what gets pass down!  possibly a budding wrestler in our future?!

It is that time of year.  These mugs are such a treasure.

I love moments like these - one brother needing, welcoming the help from another.

How about we all go skiing?!?!  Lets fill the car with boys!

Its our BIRTHDAY BOY!  We snagged a birthday table and even got 2 birthday beers from the table before us!

These guys opted to tough it out in the elements.

Fast forward 20 minutes to a HUGE snow squal!

3" for fresh powder in 45 minutes!  It was BEAUTIFUL.

And just what the birthday boy asked for!  Fresh powder and some fireball!

The wrestling season and Drew goes for it!!

Is a commitment!  Hard practices, long days on Saturday.  Nick is VERY committed during the season.  His nutrition, his work outs, his dedication.  

I asked Drew to pop into the wrestling room and snag some of these photos for me.  I had never been in the wrestling room - only heard all the good rumors.

We put together senior night and used these quotes for each of the seniors.

This is a favorite of mine for years.  Ever since my favorite body pumper Marlon used it.

Drew joined the middle school wrestling team!  Same coaches and great exposure to the sport.  Of course, we didn't think to do this with Nick - so drew is getting a bit of a head start.  Sometimes the 3rd gets some perks.

That same day, Reese Titus went onto he 100th WIN!  What a fabulous career milestone!!

Love these posters and celebrating a pretty fabulous High school career!  He is a great role model to look up to.  Coach always says he chisels away at his opponents.  Truth, very methodical, very systematic, very much in control.

 

Snow chasing! Michigan WINS

Monday was a snow chasing day - enjoying some fresh powder with the Briggs at Mt. Snow.

It was surprisingly crowded and rather chilly

Best part, making it home to see Michigan play for the National Championship game against Washington.  LOVED the energy and staying up to watching this game.  Huge Kudos to Jim Harborough, JJ Macarthy,  What a game, what a championship.   

ITs GREAT to be a MICHIGAN WOLVERINE!

Love hearing the stories of some of my classmates heading out to Houston.  Many of them were there without realizing each other was there.

Our neighbor John Campbell went to see the game in Ann Arbor.  Her daughter is a freshman there this year and they are ALL IN on the school spirit.  I LOVE to watch this.  He was beside himself with excitement and I feel so bless to be the recipient of these spirited videos.

SNOW DAY!

Love the beauty of the first snow fall.  Something even more relaxing about it being on a Sunday.

We are starting the who is taller phase for Shane.  He passed the rest of us and is now gunning for Dad.

Makes my heart so happy

Mary's friend sent this from the lake house - BEAUTY.

I was so thankful that I walked the neighborhood in the morning.  Keith Jones had gone around and made snowmen throughout the hood.  LOVED it and got to enjoy this guy at the top of the hill just moments before the snowplow came by.

Even the chickens are enjoying a bit of shelter.

 

Rolled right into the HOME wrestling tournament.

Years of progressing in knowing and understanding the requirements of this tournament.  With Nick a Junior and captain he ran the wrestling logistics with the coaches and kids.  This started with them all watching the girls basketball game Friday night.  Was great to have the crowd of rowdy boys there.  As soon as the game was over, the mats start coming out.

Its a PROCESS!

They pulled up the 2 mats from the wrestling room and borrowed a mat from Simsbury High School

Meanwhile, we got to rock the concession stand at the meet.  Wrestling concession is NO JOKE.  This crew weighs in and they are HUNGRY!  Egg sandwiches were flying off the shelf.  Baked ziti, meatball grinders, mac and cheese.  Busy fun day!

Impressive right?  So thankful for these supportive parents that are part of our crew this year.  IMPOSSIBLE to do something like this without TONS of help!

This is Nick on the mat wrestling for first place.  He wrestled a kid from Somers that he has wrestled a few times.  The kid is AMAZING and actually really nice too.  He is a triplet.  His brother is also a wrestler, but apparently the sister is the best of the 3 and attends a private school and wrestles there.

I feel like we have a lot of wrestling in our house, but they clearly have us beat!
