With Chris headed out for a work week of travel and my parents packing their bags to head home - they offered to take a little stow-away. Mr. Drew willingly (almost too willingly) joined in the packing. He waved goodbye to all of us and probably wondered if we were following in the car behind - However he was SO lucky to be pampered all week.
Look, covered up and all. The care he will get with Oma Sue and Goomba.
Since Chris and I were 'man on man' for the evening we opted to treat the boys to a rare dinner out - and where would Drew be almost impossible.... yup, Benihana...
Whenever Drew is away - Shane resorts back to life as the 'baby' he happily jumps in the stroller or enjoys an extra snooze with Momma...
Meanwhile in a some across town - Drew was checking into the toy set up with Goomba
and headed out to do morning chores with Oma Sue - nice matching boots.

Next he began his studies for his future career as a sprinkler system designer. Step one - know your materials!
Another treat for the boys by momma - a Wednesday night at the Theater - Shane hasn't ever been to the theater which would be just fine - however Nick likes to remind him of this... So we went! The 3 of us saw Croods - a cute cartoon about a 'cave family' and I cried a few times - but loved the side comments from Shane saying.... did you see that??
We had popcorn, water and the place ALMOST to ourselves. Who else walks to the movies on the Wednesday of a school night. Just us.
My folks were so good about sending photos throughout the day - we were missing Drew - but not the added dimension at the moment. But when Nick saw this photo - he took inventory in his head of the toys he remembered at Oma Sue's and Goomba's and this was not in his memory bank.

I am so thankful my folks are so willing and able to lavish some extra love on Drew this week. I loved catching my mom during moments throughout the day - stressed, nap time, dinner time, bedtime... Her trials and tribulations with dinner time antics. I am sure there are many times when we chat that i say things that she may remember about life raising kids - during this week, I heard my mom say MANY things that I say today about raising kids. I know she has an appreciation for the day to day crazy at my house - but having just one - it has been further solidified. I loved it!
By the time I arrived to pick him up on Saturday I'm pretty sure he was convinced 'mama' meant me to my mom. I think he was a bit torn on whether he wanted to rejoin crazy town or not =)! Mom and Dad I cannot thank you enough for loving my boys and for keeping yourselves healthy to keep up with them - but yes, raising kids is for the young!!
