Random Day off and Lacrosse on the HS field
Well its starting to heat up, so much so that we break a water main and CIS (Nick's school) doesn't have school for the day. Somehow Goomba got the news and asked if he wanted to go golfing. Nick doesn't turn that kind of chance down. Off they went!
Later that evening this guys got to play lacrosse on the HIGH SCHOOL field. It was super hot - but fun to watch his legs work double time out there.
Even cooler to have the high school kids watch and cheer for them! all too soon these rolls will switch!

Mother's Day
For mother's day we opted to hit the local yummy Mexican Restaurant so we weren't involved in prep or clean up!! Than we all cuddled in to watch Hidden Figures a great mom kinda movie!
Some how or another my dad found this photo so I had to post it here - this is 1999!?!? In the Hoff Brau Haus. WOW!
Anyway, back to today - Goomba makes better Margaritas than the Mexican place, so we saved our selves. Noted that AFFTER this photo we all went outside for a family wiffle ball game!
This one, who tries to mother us all - needed a little spa treatment too.
Happy Mother Day!!

Sunny day outside in May
The sun was out so its time to be OUTSIDE! I wanted to take these photos for my crafty friend Kim Algren who made this skirt with my old (shouldn't be wearing) t-shirts.
Love getting ideas from crafty folks!
Such a beautiful day we had to let the girls out. Love this stage for them!
They were so happy to just sit with us - Tabitha especially
A cute one of Shirley
Austin (Shane's buddy) isn't around chickens much, so when he saw that they popped, this was about as close as he wanted to get to them.
Shane however didn't mind
here he is with his favorite Tabitha - wish i could get a better photo of shane's teeth!!
My little Laverne would have stayed here all afternoon
Feeding the baseball team on a Saturday morning!

Brrrr
For this month of May there were SEVERAL times that the heat went on one day and the AC the next. Here we just used the fire to warm up after a chilly night at baseball.
Love this cozy new couch that fits the whole family. Thankful that during transpo we lost the main cushion at the base of OUR street and not a street far far away - in a matter of 24 hours I sold the green one (and delivered it) and picked up this one - bigger sectional - MUCH easier to move!

kids being kids
I honestly say this WAY too much - mostly because its true. Life goes by WAY too fast. its these moments I want to capture. Drew ran over here to grab these flowers and blow the seeds away - it is exactly what he should do!!
And there are moments that I get to work beside a chicken TV
And, if you put a dog crate by the door and the boys have 2 minutes before they get on the bus - yes, getting into this crate is exactly what they should be doing - together.

pitching videos
Shane was happy to play ANY position in baseball - the more action the better. Matter of fact, we spent some time trying to find him a catchers glove on Ebay as he wanted to try his hand at catcher -
Well here is our little 'up for anything' kind of guy!
https://youtu.be/CbCE9rNcQpk
Nick was also intersted in pitching - when the team started playing they had a pitching challenge for the starting position - since we were going to be in Vancouver I kind of hoped Nick wouldn't be selected - but he was!! he won out! as God would have it, his game was rained out so he saved his debut for a game in burlington

Its games like these and coaches like these guys that make me really appreciate the small town. Thankful they have chance and opportunities like this.
