Neighborhood snow fall and activities

Nothing beats a huge snowfall and seeing Mr. Canny roll up in his 4X4 to save us the snow plow time.
I few days later I convinced this crew to join me cross country skiing.  4 sets later we are all out there!
Seriously - my kids and James are just the best.  Love that they did this with me.
Look at Drew out there.  He really is good at it! Surprise surprise.  Drew and Shane even raced.  Shane was steady and drew had a killer sprint at the end...  At least we got some good energy out.
Kiddos went over and helped to shovel off the neighborhood skating rink too  Thankful for more time on the ice!

Pricilla's Birthday party!

Pricilla ordered up a whopper of a snow storm for her birthday!  She originally had her favorite band scheduled to play and the little red barn.  We had party outfits and all.  Sadly the band cancelled - she rebooked a DJ and we danced, and sang all night!  The DJ didn't want to go home either.

Dog BFFs

Could this doggy friendship be any cuter?  We offered to grab Latte for a playdate.

Latte HATES the car, but with Wendy, maybe its not so bad?  But sitting with Wendy in the car is even more helpful right??
They played hard - than they took a nap together in the sun.
Latte woke up first and is now starring down Wendy in hopes that she wakes up soon too =)!

Hot shot Drew!

Check out this local celebrity!  Glad Nick follows sundown on Instagram.  He found this photo of his brother.  We showed Drew and he beamed!  He confessed to seeing the photographer camped out and opted to 'go for it!'  Adorable dude.

Smooby Smooby Shane

Love this boy and how much he loves his dogs.  clearly they love him too and not just because he feeds them.  He is a sweet soul.
And crazy too - can you see the badminton net set up here?
Here is his basketball team - look for number 2 - he is a reliable player that knows the drills, knows where he is supposed to be and turning into quite the shooter.  Also love the son coach aspect of this photo.
There is our #2!
Keep it up Boo Boo!  We love watching you play!

Neighborhood hockey time

Our neighbors across the street LOVE hockey.  At least Mike and Jules do.  Building this rink is a labor of love for Mike.  He even had water delivered this year.  I LOVED capturing this photo of Drew and Jules.  They were out there for hours just the 2 of them.  Skating, sliding, chatting.  From here is was just beautiful.  The passed 2 times at Sundown Drew has struggled to find buddies to ski with and was even snubbed by 2 teammates.  It was crushing to watch.  I treasure the moments like this.
While the temps are cold and the ice is firm, the kids can be found out here!  Lights and all!
Like glass right?
Cassandra offered to have a skating party for the neighborhood.  It was WONDERFUL.
So many neighbors came out, shared drinks, had chili, and connected.  it was wonderful and everything they were hoping for as well.  It was fun seeing Mike on the ice hopefully soaking it all in.  I am sure he is a fabulous hockey player, but it was so kind watching him dial it in, pass to Jules and support the kiddos in the learning process.
We even got snow flurries for the evening making it that much better.
Love how Cassandra puts all these little touches, tables, table clothes and all.  We even got the Altott's out on the ice and HE was loving it too!!  Kids thought he was great!

MLK weekend ski families

Working to re-coop our skiing legs and get back out there.  I found this awesome farm house in Rochester VT - 1/2 way between Sugarbush and Killington.  The Briggs were game!  Sadly the Mays had too many kiddo activities - so we reached out to the McLellan's and their friends the Kulik's.  It went from a rather boy heavy ski crew to majority girls!  So interested to see how this rolls.  We got up there Saturday evening after some sports.  Kim makes some pretty amazing margaritas!
Than the girls changed into cute dressed and heels - entertaining us with their microphones and some music.  My boys honestly didn't know what to think.  In all the weekends we traveled with the Briggs, Ashley never came down in heels and a short dress!
They managed to get the boys involved and choreographed a dance including them as well.
Here are some photos of the 'grounds' the next day.  Its a farm with cows and the owners live in the house next door.
Rebecca and I came out dressed like twins!  I am the lucky recipient of this sweater from her as she needed a different size and couldn't return it.  I often say I wear my friends cast off like my own designer labels.  Love it even better when we can twin!
Here we are headed to Sugarbush in some pretty chilly temps.  Notice no skis in the car?  Thanks to the fabulous roof rank Chris gifted our family!  Its a HUGE help for this growing family!!
Chilly/icy day at sugar bush, but we enjoyed what we could linking up with Mike Ryan and his family.  We ended back at our VRBO and I loved capturing the moon.

More margaritas anyone?  Yes please!
We managed to get the kiddos to play 'El President' with us and they tried to teach us some dance moves.
Mrs. Briggs packed an extra electric blanket.  Look how happy (and warm) this sweet little face is.
Breakfast with the crew, getting ready to head out again!
This time its DUMPING snow at Killington!  Epic Ski day!
We had a BLAST lapping a few slopes by the 'needle' lift waiting for the gondola to open.  We even hiked a few times to an untouched trail.  I gotta say we have the heartiest skiers around.  Here we are thankful for a break in the now open gondola.
Snow covered and smiling!
I heart this bunch so much!
Here are my boys at the end of the day.  What you see here looks like Drew peacefully laying down, what you might not see are Shane's arms - he was almost completely buried by Drew.  (and loved it might I add!!)
