Senior Prom

Lets get this boy looking his best.  Love that he has a different suit for Senior prom.  Thrilled my folks were willing to stop over for getting ready time  My mom is right, seeing someone else head to prom surely does bring back memories of your own prom.

Meanwhile - Mary convinced me to join them for the yatch rock show in Hartford.  So glad she sent this photo so I could amp up the outfit.  She is so festive!

Kids went onto more photos at Smith farm.  Cool to catch some of these junior boys headed to Senior prom.

Yacht prom?  We were driven by Carolyn's son and dropped off.

Of course we were front row, is there any other way to enjoy a show?

As the story goes, we got an uber back to Mary's house, but I needed to get home from there (I didn't have a car) who better to come get me?  Nick, whats your curfew?  he was willing to meet me and Mary at 12:30 - gotta love that kid.

Next up, squam with dad.  Sadly, dad didn't get to do any of the activities he had hoped to do, maybe the ocean air is helpful?

Off they went.  Nick loved it, spike ball, beach to themselves, making dinner at the VRBO - getting in the cold water.  All the things that this crew should be doing.

 

Chris's surgery

Now how did we get here you may ask?  Remember the whole lake house dock?  Well, Monday was an appointment with the Orth and yes, the tendon is torn and fixing it sooner is better.  But recovery is long and kinda stinks.... but Chris is treating this as his life style change.  So here we are.  Waking up after his Thursday surgery.  The doctor ahd to make 2 incisions to pull the tendon back down and secure it.  Guessing that 12 week recovery might be pretty legit.

The first week was brutal.  He could even type.  Very immoble.

Here he is one week later smiling with the removal of the bracing and on a road to recovery.  1 week down, 11 to go.

Nothing easy about this = physically or mentally really.  

Nice to see the boys trying to help out where they can and pick up for all the things Chris cannot and should not be doing.....

 

Mother's Day

Now this is how everyone would like to start their mother's day weekend right?  Every time we pull up here we just cannot believe how beautiful it is.

Yes, those are my fishermen.  I feel very confident that if I had to live on the fish they provided, we would NOT go hungry. 

This is the weekend of the boat arrival.  Tom and Chris went to go grab it from Lake Lilinona.  Here is Tom bringing her in for the first time.

We headed out to hit some baseball games  - Next up - Mother's day!

My mom kindly hosted us for brunch on the stipulation that dad did the cooking.  And he did!

Look at these handsome men.  Shane thinks he is almost as tall is dad.  Not quite cutie.

How blessed I get to share Mother's day with both my mom and Barbara!

Next up - my request for mothers day.  1 mountain bike loop at Norbrook.  The boys were awesome loading up the bikes, driving out in the rain.  Thankfully by the time we landed it was NOT raining.

We did 1 loop - and it was almost perfect.  Of course I fell but not a bad fall, its just as i braced myself my knee crushed a rock.  Dumb....  I was in the back just thinking how beautiful it is that all of us have bikes that work well and everyone can do it together, than I fall?  Can't I keep up with these boys just just a few more years.  Minor tears in my eyes, but I made it back put ice on my knee and enjoyed the rest of the afternoon.  Thankful to be the mom in this unperfectly beautiful family.

 

middle school dance and northern lights

Well look at these handsome gentlemen.  Its the last middle school dance of the year.  The theme is red carpet and they went Hawaiian.  These boys are rocking a 3 week sleep over streak.  Pairing up for the middle school dance is ideal.  No one needs to walk in alone.  Those middle school dance are such a fond memory - just fun dancing!!

That night was a northern lights display!  It found out with a quick look at facebook.  It was AMAZING to see it through our phone  Such a beautiful display.

Truly amazing this was in our own back yard.  This is the beauty of sitting in my old person rocking chair.

 

Oma Sue's birthday

My mom got to celebrate her birthday on Cinco de Mayo that Sunday with her very own Carrot cake.

Love this beautiful lady - She really is a rock star, does her classes, plays her bridge, good friend creating quite the social circle.  Happy voice to talk with almost every day.  Love that she is mine!!  And the grandma to these boys.

Junior Prom

Its Junior prom night!!  Friday!!  So pumped to have the kiddos over for some photos.  Our tree is killing it right now for a back drop. 

How adorable are these 2?  What a beautiful dress!  love the color.

Nick put out photos at Highland lake boat launch since their prom is being held in Winsted.  Loved getting quite the crew out there.  So fun to see these boys all grown up and cleaned up.

Impressed they got Tyler to attend - even with a date!

Next up, the Adults will party too.  Great to catch up with the Briggs after a busy season.  Great cool Winsted bar.

When we got home, look who we ran into coming back to change for the post prom hang out.  Sounded like the dance was a success!

Gotta love prom season.  so happy for them.
