Labor Day weekend

Time to load up the car and head to the lake for the 'unofficial' end of summer season.  Gotta admit, Nora is making that watermelon look awfully comfortable.
We were blessed to fill the house with both of our besties!  The Wisneskis made it up for the weekend too.  Did a couple bike loops around the lake
Something about this looks chaotic to me.
Nice slow coffee morning.  Wish I had a photo of everyone going to bed that night.  McCullough were on the pull out bed downstairs.  They got to hear each one of us tip toe downstairs through out the night to use the bathroom.  And the first ones to see the sunrise =)  Such troopers
The last night of the long weekend we headed back to our house to free it up for the May's  Basement dwelling for this crew.
All the kids lines up minus Eve.
Love the time get get all together

Jon Scudder life celebrated

I hope we all had that classmate, you know the one that was friends with everyone?  The nerd, the jocks, the cheerleaders, the theatre kids?  That was Jon Scudder.  He remembered everyone, always said hi and made you feel like you mattered.  I remember life with Jon Scudder in High school and was thankful able to re-connect after moving back to CT.  He spotted me at a soccer game when we played Simsbury.  He quickly came over and gave a big hug and started the catch up.  He loved talking about his kids and his second wife who was also for Simsbury High, just a year older than us.  He loved hearing what we were up to.  I looked forward to those Simsbury games and getting a chance to connect.

A few weeks before Labor day Jon passed away in a tragic accident while on a family trip on Costa Rica.  It was devastating for all.  They had a wake and a celebration of life for him.  It was the best tribute ALL the classmates and friends that showed up to be in a community that loved Jon.  His family bravely spoke and his friends share some beautiful tributes.  I was so thankful for all the teary hugs and seeing all the faces that defined my high school years.  While its 30 years for us and we should have a reunion, sadly this reunion that wasn't on the calendar but will forever be in our hearts.

First day of School

Who knew that when Farrah and I met 15 years ago both pregnant after all the different moves, locations, assignments, never in the same place, that one day we would have THIS back to school photo.  What a treasure

Toasty warm on our high up seats.
Had to take this photo as NIck reminds me SO much for my friend Pete Brinkerhoff at this age.
How many beers do you think this guy had?
This is one cutie pie
Macy's boots kinda gave her blisters, so Nick offered to wear them.

When the July weekends are packed we move the party to Christmas in August!  Why not right?  Can you see Santa floating in the pond?
I asked all the boys to go in the back 40 to grab this years Christmas tree.  Guess who found it.

SATs away and a little Nora

A Saturday in Albany NY together.  Only place for Nick to take the SAT's.  It was fun grabbing a hotel room with this guy and watching him check in to build his own dreams and next steps.  Exctied to be part of your next step,
Home and took a little stroll with Nora.  Love how much she still enjoys her time in the water.
She is 14 now. so these days seem to be more of a treasure.

Tate's Final weekend before COLLEGE!

Lobster fest 2024 - I promised Tara I would volunteer if I could - thankfully time allowed for me to pop in for a few hours.  They are like machines!!  Over a thousand lobsters come on through, TONS of butter, and corn too.
Meanwhile this guy snagged another lobster and got to hang at the fest for a bit
The ladies considering the dance floor??
Shane couldn't wait to get home to do this - Lots of this
Tell me wearing the bike helmet in the house while making lunch is totally normal right?
This is the final foursome on the morning Tate moves in
Thankfully he isn't going too far away.  Hugs for this BIG step for Tate!
