Garmisch Germany

After the cabin fever Chris suffered over Thanksgiving - we had to travel this weekend. We rented a little 3rd floor Apartment in Garmisch Germany (right across the street from the American reseort called Eidlewiess - which worked out great for football game viewing).
As we were driving south we were greeted with SNOW! (just hours before our pals in Georgetown Texas saw it...) That evening we walked around downtown Garmisch, had an amazing meal and enjoyed the faling flakes.
My three boys...
Shane getting ready to brave the elements for the evening.

Yes, I did say we had a great dinner, but Chris and Nick CANNOT resist a good bratwurst.

We all know Chris has a thing for hiking the tallest mountain in the area - That being said, we had to get to the top of the Zugspitz. Thankfully that did not involve hiking. We took the train up and the gondola down. Not many 2 month olds up top.... Go Shane!

Even the sky looks chilly in this photo

They say you can see four countries from the top..... Not sure which one this is....

The obligatory family photo!

Lunch at the top - and it was YUMMY! Can you believe Thomas the train make it all the way to the top too?
This is the view from the glass window directly behind me. Talk about lunch with a view!
Heck, even Shane loved it!
So this is the ride back down - hold on!
Here's a quick video of the descent. I referenced if Liz would remember this ride... She visited us when we lived here 10 years ago. When we took the gondola up that time it was VERY windy - as i was enjoying the scenery the operator was speaking in harsh words, the Gondola was swaying and Liz was spending her time on the ground!! Chris wasn't far behind her. This was a MUCH easier ride!

Onto a little hiking.

This is more my speed

Gotta love the stroller!
Someone is dressed for the weather!
This was the sight of the Olymipc ski jump - they are still using it. Matter of fact, there is an event planned for new Years. Nick was hoping to join up in time!
