Touring Christmas markets

During this Christmas season we are truly thankful for spending this time with grandparents.  Wyland and Barbara are celebrating with us this holiday season.

Nick wakes up in the morning so happy knowing his grandpa is downstairs waiting for him.  We love that grandpa is there, but we just wish he would stop giving Nick coffee - hahaha!.  Shane gives Barbara that heartwarming smile on a dime and she is showering him with all sorts of pampering.

In this photo - Shane was enjoying a little stroll with his grandparents.  We had JUST missed the bus to Nurtingen for the christmas market (we were literally running up the hill as the bus FLEW by) so we had a 1/2 hour to entertain ourselves before the next bus ventured out our way.

Every Christmas market seems to have a special twist.  The Nurtingen one holds a special candle lit procession through the streets.  It was a bit of a rainy night, not perfect for a christmas market - but if you base your adventures on the weather, you may never have adventures right?  Farrah orchestrated this beautiful evening and we were thankful to experience it.  Thanks Farrah!!

On Monday we headed to the Medeival Christmas market in Esslingen (sadly we all forgot our cameras)  but Barbara signed up for the egg toss and Nick made a candle.  The food was amazing and the gluvine mugs are the kind you don't want to give back!!

Next, the Leadbetters explored the Stuttgart Christmas Market on their own.  This market goes on and on and on with beautiful and unique items not to mention amazing food!  They were chilled when they got home - but enjoyed the exploration of the striking german tradition.
