IT feel so goo to get away and enjoy a weekend with minimal timelines - no strollers, no kids - just some wonderful ladies! I am SO grateful to have some fabulous pals in my neighborhood that were as excited as i was to be on this weekend together.
April was our fearless driver on the road to NYC and on the streets within the city. I was impressed with her assertiveness with the 'mini' We had a simple drive down - but got stuck in the Lincoln Tunnel with traffic for over an hour - yuck right?

Although going out was fabulous - we all agreed that getting ready in front of the HUGE hotel closet door mirrors was really the best. Its that quality girl time (and we could actually hear each other...)

New York is really an amazing city. Saying there is SO much to look at is truly an understatement! Everything was decorated - all we really needed was snow =)

Friday night was the 'clubbing lifestyle' interesting right?
We paid a whopping $20 cover at one party and once we were in a realized we were NOT the target audience (shocking right?) and didn't really recognize the music - a few of us were thinking about paying another $20 just to leave... Ah, the lessons we learn right?
But after returning from the bathroom, we found that Valerie wasn't terribly interested in leaving

The next morning was time to soak in some more of the sights. Just walking through the streets felt festive. We were an easy walk to Rockefeller (hello Today Show!), Central Park and Time Square - really, do you need to see anymore? each time I saw a family with a stroller I reminded myself to - ENJOY!
The Christmas tree was truly more beautiful in person (and at night - thanks to Teresa and Valery we have a photo of that too)

Being 5 girls - we were able to split up and do different things. Valery and Teresa opted to enjoy the Christmas spirit on skates

meanwhile - Dawn, April and I enjoyed browsing the local Christmas market at the edge of Central park after a yummy Starbucks (which is literally on every corner)
This photo's story cracks me up - we separated because we figured linking up would be a breeze (cell phones and all). Once their skating was complete - I (directionaly challenged) tried to communicate to Valery (french is her first language) where we were..... Teresa following my horrid directions found yet another Trump Tower. This was the photo i sent them saying Dawn and i were waiting for them at this Trump Tower. It was a wildly confusing conversation among all of us that we are now laughing at. the funniest part was there were no cocktails included =)
After all that excitement - lets find food
What an afternoon in NYC without some great Cheese pizza - in order to get just cheese, April had to wait 20 minutes and order the whole pizza - it was worth it

Dawn live in NYC for a few years while knocking out grad school at Columbia - so she because our tour guide for Saturday night. This Italian restaurant was a favorite of hers and turned out to be fabulous for us. With 5 women at one table, can you imagine how loud we got? There were several times when I'm certain the other tables weren't wondering what we were talking about because they could HEAR what we were talking about =) (and they wish they were at our table surely!)
Oh the things you can stumble on during a stroll through the city---if only we had room for that Lobster Bisque

Thanks Dawn for leading us to a fabulous bar for the final night. I am happy to report our bar tab the second night was less that the cover charge for the first night - Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice..... not with these ladies!

And one more quip on the evening - I know you ladies won't forget the valet driver and my humidifier rescue. We all slept fabulous even if it was from 4am-10!
It was a rainy yucky drive home - but full of chatter (and than snoring) from the festivities - Cheers to doing it all over about sometime soon. Monday morning came quickly as we all feel back into that Mom and working mom roll - but i know we were channeling some good tunes while we resumed real life =)
