Adventure families take on Okemo for Presidents day weekend (Epic day 10/11/12)

Off we go on another Adventure family ski weekend - Presidents day and traditionally the most challenging weekend for avid skiers due to the CROWDED nature. Assuming COVID might play a roll in all this....meanwhile we will just CROWD the car with boys and dogs.

WE got in late night to the house we ALMOST rented for the hole ski season. (we were hedging bets on school remote learning and where we would be in life) we ended up whittling down our time to President's day and another weekend in March. Thankful we get to get up there.

I will say it was a BANNER weekend. The conditions were UNREAL and the crowds were MINIMAL! This was MEMORABLE. I am pretty sure we were all glowing all weekend and the photos show it.

Things we love almost as much as skiing is the family dinners. This house was a CLASSIC that included a LONG family dinner table. It was built in 1886. The couple that owns it now bought it in 1986 and spent the better part of 10 year renovating it. Truly if this house could tell a story - it would have MANY chapters.

Back to us and the newly coined MAYBETTERS!

This was the hall entrance for the home and also coined the ski stuff dumping ground. Also a good spot to snuggle Nora is you can see her.

When its not time to hit the slopes yet. The kids will find something to do while the adults have one more warm beverage. The greatest luxury about being 10 minutes from the mountain.

We spotted a Briggs's doppelganger car! We are missing them and challenging their awesomeness as they tear up Colorado this week instead of life with us....

Extended awesome ski day photos - this was right before ski patrol asked us to move out of the way.

Mary snapped this adorable photo of Nick while her sweet husband was making sure I survied a rough fall in the trees (no more trees for me today) thankful for the photo.

Valentines Hot Choco bombs the perfect thing to come home to right?

The conditions this weekend meant every time we saw this sign - we said YES, YES we will. The bumps were the BOMB!

Ours kids LOVE the trees, I quite honestly am done for now. But here they are all going in. Disregard the fact that I had a math mis-step. Nick is the oldest and got it right!!

Ours kids live a charmed life I will admit we do too - I love the families that we get to do life like this with!

Brace Face here we come!

Such a rite of passage right? Slap those braces on and straighten out that grill. With masks on at school the decision was easy. Matter of fact Nick has been looking forward to this - Dad is joining him with the Invisalign option. As I write this I am kicking myself for not getting HIS before and after.

He is smiling now - lets give it 24 hours and he won't be able to eat anything..... So lets hit the slopes for President's day weekend.

Its a good things we like our Dentist/Orthodontist because we will be seeing him LOTS. These guys are good sports.

Bathroom - your days are numbered baby!

Outside of turning the garage BACK into a garage......... THIS was the TOP of our list for projects in our home.

Once we finally saved up to do this we spend the final week confirming there was NOTHING we liked about this bathroom.

Single sink (o.k. I do like the recently purchased faucet) Dingy medicine cabinet. Extra shelves EVERYWHERE.

This jetted tub took up a HUGE footprint to include a separate step to get in.

Cave like right?? YUCK!

Top was fine - just fine

No real complaints about the cabinet other than just not liking it. I took this photo to be able to see if anyone needs a cabinet - free. Believe it or not, the cabinet, tub and toilet all found new homes

Toilet - no real issues. Nice shade of tan....

Just in case the day light made it more appealing..... not really. Demo day is looming!

Things about Feburary

This light set was a FABULOUS purchase and gets PLENTY of use at the Leadbetters. Now the ski jump is lit all night.

Airport food inovations during COVID. I was skeptical but gave it a thumbs up. Along with the seltzer. I am in (with other option not available)

Here was my selection

Freshly cleared steps - a favorite - the sun just coming up is the icing on the cake

This device right here got us through Europe, Michigan, VA - DVD player - I cannot thank you enough!

The little things to keep the big things the top of our hearts. Thank you Farrah for the simple idea. Best part, when the kids ask me about it.

Superbowl weekend

You are right - this sure doesn't look like super bowl

- Shane and Drew both had basketball - but thankfully it didn't get too much in the way of ski time. The boys were thankful for the games they got to play on the court. Boo Bo bear is #2 and he has a great eye for the rim.

On Sunday's ski outing Epic day 9, I seemed to capture more in'line antics than on the slope. Here is Michael and Nick

February 1 brings a beautiful snow fall filled with neighborhood fun and another official snowday

Yes, COVID helped us see that we can do school virtually. However our school recognized snow days are still part of being a kid in New England. So we are granted 2 of them. Here is snow day #2. And here is our Teacher out driver the sled puller. How fun to wake up to right?!?!
