Once of the greatest things about our WEEK at Disney is the breaks in between. Farrah had planed this trip knowing back to back days in the park would be challenging for us and the kids. The kids really just want to hang out and play and they need that time in-between to do that. BIG Kids too.
Chris and Brian used Brian's military discount and played a bit of golf on Wednesday while we had the kiddos at the pool
So many times during our visit we talked about how thankful we were to have each other - Chris and Brian get to golf, we get time with each other and the kiddos doing mom stuff.
Not only did we have the kiddos at the pool, but we had a special guest too - Ashley and Peter drove in from Georgia to spend the day and evening with us. I met Ashley back in Germany at our first book club. She is such a REAL person that I truly enjoy being friends with her as she says whats on her mind - no filter needed.
Her husband Sean deployed in November - so she managed to get through the holidays and had this little escape to look forward too. Growing up the oldest sister of 3 younger brothers means I feel like in some ways she can relate to the crazy that is my day to day. They have sweet Peter who is 4 about to be 5 and are working to add a second sweet baby to the mix through adoption!! She shared that with us that day - over the moon excited for them and this new baby to come into their lives!
We enjoyed our time at the pool than took all the kiddos up for some showers in preparation for a dinner out in Disney Springs.
Back in October when we were planing this trip, we felt the need to make dinner reservations at places. Looking back, we may adjust that. The places are crowded and we may have just wanted to stay home.
But with plans in place we headed to Disney Springs. Chris and Brian grabbed the kiddos and headed to the lego store - funny they hardly knew Peter as we were with him this afternoon. So they kept asking Drew to hold Peter's hand in the crowds of folks.

We didn't snap any photos during the day - too busy catching up. Thankful to have this one at the Dockside bar.
Disney springs was well decorated - but LOTS of construction, LOTS of people (no where to defuse them)

Dinner reservations for us - T-Rex experience. My sister had a well orchestrated plan for her Disney vacation and this was her final spot before they loaded in the car and headed back home. I was afraid this would be the only time we would get to see them, so I booked a reversion as well hoping to connect the tables and get to see them. Needless to say, I am SO thankful we saw them yesterday as this dinner out was extreme chaos
The place was LOUD - BIG - LOTS of folks. Every 10 minute there was an asteroid due to hit the Dinosaurs so they all roared, flapped their wings, screeched. really added to the ambiance.
Their faces say it all.
We sat rather close to the door and I think our waiter (who was from Rome Italy) took pity on us and since our order came out oddly timed, he offered up some free desserts. Rather unnecessary - we actually took pity on him and hoped he was able to see and explore other places in the US and not base is US experience working at the T-Rex experience.
Especially since we received 2 - even the kiddos couldn't finish it!
That night my sister's car was packed up and they drove 3 hours before stopping at a hotel to rest. We drove 20 minutes home and both cars were extraordinarily exhausted.
